Petition 1 has qualified for the November ballot
We did it. YOU did it.
Signature verification for Initiative Petition 1 was completed this morning. Our measure will officially be on the ballot this November!
Thanks to the determination, commitment, and generosity of more than 10,000 volunteer petition circulators and supporters, Oregon voters can finally vote YES to stop the funding of elective abortions with our state tax dollars.
In the coming days I will send you more details about how you can be involved in the Vote Yes campaign. There is much work ahead.

That means we are in the raffle ticket selling mode - for our Jackson County Right to Life fund raising for 2018. Call me and we will mail you the tickets you would like.
Tickets are also available at Sensational Sweets in Eagle Point, The Medford Mailbox, KDOV, Evangel in Grants Pass, and Valley Vinyl.

Please let Robin or I know if you have time to take a shift, they are between 2 and 3 hours and you get a free admission ticket.

Planned Parenthood Picket Press Release
Wednesday, April 25, 2018
Medford, Oregon, joins nationwide day of prayer and protest against the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.
On Saturday, April 28, a pro-life rally will be held at the Planned Parenthood facility at 125 S. Central, downtown Medford, starting at 9 am. This rally is one of more than 130 taking place outside Planned Parenthood centers across the United States, marking the 3rd annual National Day of Prayer and Protest Against Planned Parenthood.
This nationwide event is being coordinated by #ProtestPP, a coalition of more than 75 national, state and local pro-life organizations, in response to Planned Parenthood’s aggressive new agenda. In February, Planned Parenthood executive vice-president Dawn Laguens declared that the organization is “going on the offense” pursuing abortion expansion in “all 50 states”. This month, Planned Parenthood announced their participation in the “Win Justice” project, devoting $30 million to advancing their agenda in the November elections.
The protests held on Saturday, April 28, will also call on federal authorities to stop Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding. The effort to fully defund the organization of all federal tax dollars – about $430 million annually – has stalled in Congress. But an effort is now underway to revise Title X family planning rules to block Planned Parenthood as a recipient, and deprive them of some $60-80 million annually.
Every tax dollar taken from Planned Parenthood would be redirected to healthcare providers that are not involved in abortion. The effort to defund PP has nothing to do with taking money away from poor women and families. It’s about taking tax dollars away from the nation’s largest abortion chain.
Jackson County Right to Life is coordinating the local protest. JCRtL has been involved in protesting Planned Parenthood for the last 5 years. JCRtL will also be gathering signatures to help qualify a statewide initiative petition for this November’s general election ballot which seeks to amend the state constitution to ban the use of tax money to fund abortions in Oregon.

Medford Planned Parenthood Pickup Update
This coming Saturday, April 28, is the national Planned Parenthood picket. So far, according to the website, there are 134 locations in 34 states! Our picket will run from 9 am to 11 am, starting at the corner of 8th and Central and spreading out from there. We have tons of signs, but you are certainly welcome to make your own. If you can't stay for 2 hours, come for the time you can! And this is certainly a bring-the -family-friends event! We will also be working on gathering signatures for the ban on taxpayer funding for abortions petition. If you have time, we will have the "find neighbors like me" website available and we can get you names and addresses of people who signed the petition in 2014, but have not signed this year - over 42,000 signed in 2014 who have not signed this time - and this would easily put us over the needed # of signatures to get this important issue on November's ballot - so bring your chairs, signs, hats, and help us get out the word about Planned Parenthood!
On April 28th, pro-lifers across the country will hold the third annual National Day of Prayer and Protest against Planned Parenthood at hundreds of Planned Parenthood facilities from coast to coast, calling for an immediate end to the organization’s federal funding.
Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion chain and receives over $500 million from taxpayers every year. But pro-life leaders in Washington are now moving to end that government subsidy.
Come out on April 28th to raise your voice with tens of thousands of pro-lifers across the country demanding that our government defund Planned Parenthood!
Here in Medford we will be holding a protest April 28th at at the corner of 8th and Central, downtown Medford at 9 - 11 am.

#MyUnintendedJoy: Americans Show Why They Choose Life Over Abortion
by Dr. Susan Berry
The hashtag #MyUnintendedJoy is trending on Twitter prior to Friday’s March for Life, as women faced with unplanned or complicated pregnancies are Tweeting their stories showing why they chose life over abortion. The Federalist’s Bre Payton highlights the hashtag and draws attention to “the women and children the abortion industry doesn’t want you to know about.”
The March for Life is the world’s largest pro-life demonstration was held Friday, January 27, on the national mall in Washington, D.C.
Here are some of the stories about the babies who were born because their mothers and fathers chose life, despite the recommendations of doctors and other family members and friends to abort:
Introducing our new Pro-Life TV spot!
Pro-Lifers: One of the challenges pro-lifers have is to convey the message of the value of human life in contrast to the many, many other distractions that people hold sacred in their lives. Prime examples would be the environment, environmentalism and the animal rights movement. With the legalization of abortion, the value of human life has been legally diminished to such an extent that our society has placed non-humanity in a glorified place, above that which was created in God's image.
In an effort to bring this imbalance into perspective, Jackson County Right to Life created the attached :30 commercial. Our goal was to make a sudden and obvious contrast between what our society now seems to hold at great value as compared to what our Creator considers of the highest value. Our chapter desires that this spot be exposed to our culture in every possible venue, so we encourage you all to view the spot and then post it to your social media outlets for a larger viewership. We pray that it's thought provoking message will force people to reconsider where their values lay. May God bless this effort to uphold LIFE as His sacred work.
This spot is available to any other right to life organization, free of any charge, without the localized tag at the end, simply reply to this email and we will send you the un-tagged spot.
